What kind of warranty do you offer?

We offer a five-year labor warranty on any repair or replacement. New installations of wiring and components have a lifetime limited labor warranty. All parts covered under the manufacturer warranty.

What exactly is your service area?

We work in Arlington, Alexandria City, Fairfax County, City of Fairfax, City of Falls Church, and Eastern Prince William County.  See our Home Page for a detailed map.

What time frames do you offer?

We offer three time blocks on weekdays. They are 8-10, 10-2, or 2-5. We can guarantee the time of the first call only. On Saturday’s, we offer 8-10 and 10-2.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, estimates are provided free and on site. Please call or email our office to schedule an estimate. Smaller jobs can usually be done at the same time as the estimate.

How do you price jobs?

We only price a job when we can see it. We cannot expect our clients to accurately describe a job, or know all the options possible to give a price over the phone! We will give you a flat rate price. The rate is the average time and material of ten similar jobs. Therefore, no matter how long it takes, it will not change. We pride ourselves in fair pricing. Keep in mind that phone quotes are often a “bait and switch” tactic, which we will never do!  We are not the most expensive and we are not the cheapest, nor do we want to be.

How do you protect my home while you are working?

First, we park on the street, if possible, to keep you driveway clean. Then we place a mat at your front door. This gives us a place to put our shoe covers on. We cover the work area with canvas and plastic drop clothes. Our step ladders are clean because they are inside our vans. Finally, we vacuum and clean up before we go.

Will you install products that I provide?

Yes, you can provide any parts you want. We will deduct the cost we would pay for a similar product from our flat rate price. However, we reserve the right to refuse installation of inferior, counterfeit, or used products. Often times, they do not install neatly, are not safe, or involve modifications to make them work.

What do you mean by “paperless invoice”?

We email you an invoice with a link to pay via credit or debit card. You can pay from your own computer before we leave.

Are you open on the weekends?

Our office is open on Saturday from 8-noon. We run service calls on Saturday’s.  However, we are not open on Sunday’s. Existing clients have access to our after hours emergency service.

Will you rewire a lamp or fixture?

Sometimes, we can repair or rewire some fixtures at our shop. We carry a variety of common lamp and fixture parts, call to make an appointment or schedule a drop off.  More complex or time sensitive fixture rewires are referred to a local lamp store.

Do I need to be home when you arrive?

Yes, We will call when on the way to your home so you can meet us there. If you cannot be there, then a decision maker at least eighteen years of age must be present. This person must have the ability to make decisions and pay upon completion.

Does Mister Rogers Electric install home standby generators?

No, we will gladly help you choose a great portable generator that can be started via remote control and even be connected to your natural gas line or propane tank. We will install the Manual Transfer switch, which allows you to switch between generator and utility power.

Do you patch drywall if you cut holes?

Yes, we will make a rough patch in your wall. We put back the piece we cut out.

What other service do you offer?

None, we are specialized in electrical work and we do it well. Our vans are only stocked with electrical components. No need to run to ‘the depot’ for a basic part, we have it.
